Babelsberg is the largest district of Potsdam, with a total of 25,000 inhabitants. Babelsberg used to be Marlene Dietrich’s living room. Today it is the flagship of the Berlin film scene. Quentin Tarantino shoots here every few years. GZSZ every day. Here you can experience film flair: the Babelsberg studio, the Filmpark, the Berlin-Brandenburg Radio (rbb), the Babelsberg Konrad Wolf film university, the Babelsberg film school (bfg), the UFA and numerous other institutions and companies in the media industry are located here.
The student flats are located at a quiet and safe location in the middle of the new, attractive campus at Filmpark Babelsberg, the new Media Tech Hub, and close to the traditional UFA studios. The Film University Babelsberg is also just around the corner (approx. 400 m), as well as the XU Exponential University (500 m). The Hasso Plattner Institute (approx. 1.2 km), the University of Potsdam with the Griebnitzsee campus (approx. 1.2 km), the Filmpark Babelsberg (approx. 1 km), as well as the Potsdam Griebnitzsee train station (approx. 900 m) – everything is within walking distance at the digital location. The central station is just 2 S-Bahn stations away, in 5 minutes you are in the centre. And if you want to go to Berlin: via a direct S-Bahn connection, you can reach Kurfürstendamm in 30 minutes.
There are various shopping facilities right on campus: a supermarket, drugstore, bakery, and a café – everything for everyday life is right on the doorstep. Numerous pubs, restaurants, parks, and sports activities are in the immediate vicinity and offer you a high quality of life and countless ideas for your leisure time.
